We are a Christian based 501(c)(3) non-profit agency organized to meet emergency needs of those living within the Eaton Rapids Public School District founded in 1981. Residency requirements and income guidelines may apply, along with completion of required paperwork.
We are supported through generous donations from individuals, churches, local businesses, community organizations and several foundations, such as the Greater Lansing Food Bank.
In addition to food, Eaton Rapids Heart and Hands supplies some hygiene items.
Eaton Rapids Heart and Hands is governed by a Board and the day-to-day operations are currently being handled by the director, Becky Ridler. It is staffed primarily by volunteers who perform various jobs such as distributing, picking up and moving food items, as well as various administrative duties. There are approximately 20 volunteers who work at the food pantry as well as serve on the Board. Volunteers are always needed and receive training.
Eaton Rapids Heart and Hands is located at the First Baptist Church of Eaton Rapids (separate entrance at the back of the building) and is open Tuesday afternoon from 4 PM to 6 PM, Wednesday morning from 9 AM to 12 noon and Thursday morning from 9 AM o 12 noon.
Donations of non-perishable food and personal care items (i.e., soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, etc.) are always needed and can be dropped off during the business hours listed above.
